Ugly Holiday Sweater Contest For People & Pups!

Winterfest is one of Grandin Village’s most beautiful traditions—but it’s got an ugly side, and it comes from your closet! Bring on your most creative and ugly holiday sweaters to be judged in the first ever WinterFest Ugly Holiday Sweater People & Pups Contest. We’re looking to see your dog’s ugliest sweaters, too, so bring your pup along to compete.

Sweaters will be judged by local “celebrities” across various categories. Each winner will snag prizes from Grandin Village shops.

The Boptet Boogie Woogie Holiday Band is back!

The WinterFest Boogie Woogie Band is made up of the local dynamic jazz ensemble The Boptet joined by guest vocalists putting their unique spin on swinging holiday classics.

Back for the fifth year, The Boptet includes Wyatt Allen, Edwin Parker, Joel Stopka, Willis Greenstreet, Joey Ballard and featured on piano this year, Lenny Marcus. A dynamic jazz ensemble from Roanoke, VA, known for their intricate harmonies and infectious grooves, this ensemble blends exceptional local talent with a deep connection to Southwest Virginia’s musical heritage.

Recycling bins will be available throughout the Village during WinterFest!

Good news! During WinterFest, The City of Roanoke’s Solid Waste Division will bring both Navy Trash bins and Light Blue Recycling bins for use during Winterfest. Clean Valley Council will have volunteers monitoring the trash and recycling in the bins. Many thanks to Courtney Plaster of CVC for organizing this endeavor in keeping with the GVBA’s goal to support green initiatives to make Grandin Village a magnet of economic and cultural activity in the valley. Visit cleanvalley.org to learn more about their mission!
